Anniversary



An explanation is something this site has been lacking, and even though I found that fact endearing an explanation is probably due (though this update will probably be ignored because of the lame index page icon). This 1st year anniversary update isn't the real anniversary for a site by this name. This page's ancestor was started out of bitterness over being left out of all those high school things I was never invited to, as well as a parody of just how meaningless they were.


I really grew to cherish that old site, but its maturity level left something to be desired. It was not replaced when I switched hosting services, then was lost for all time in a tragic optical data storage accident. I would, every now and then, go back through my CD collection in the hopes that I'd overlooked a duplicate zip file embedded deep somewhere. I still do that on occasion, even though I hate to be disposed to that kind of continual bleary-eyed sentimentality. This is all that's left:


lameduckie is really just a container name and format. It was only started because I couldn't very well give 'S.P.E.C.T.R.E' it's own directory - it's only about two minutes' worth of amusement. The site simply snowballed from there. No elaborate planning or foresight involved. There's nothing meaningful here except what you bring to the table. Here's to hoping that this year will be better than the last. 'Til next April 13.
