Fall

      Fall seems to me to be the saddest season. A classmate said to me she particularly enjoyed it because of the leaves and the smells that hang around. Sure, the leafs are pretty and the air is brisk. But the ground is starting to turn brown and the sun has vanished. Fall seems like a limbo when the seasons waver with cruel indecision. Heat of summer or cold of winter? Fall is lazy like me. It doesn’t know what it wants. Nothing’s growing. Nothing’s new.

      I don't like winter. Who would enjoy temperatures that freeze your eyeballs on your first glance? But fall is grating on me. It's holding back winter like a veiled threat. Fall can still redeem itself. Let summer back, just for a week.
